Create a new legacy package "db3" for Berkeley DB 3.3.11 and upgrade "db" to Berkeley DB 4.0.14. I've tested all packages dependending on "db" and changed those which failed to "db3". The result is: + apache (works fine with new db) + dsniff (works fine with new db) + exim (works fine with new db) + imapd (has to use db3) + inn (has to use db3) + openldap (works fine with new db) + perl-db (works fine with new db) + postfix (works fine with new db) + sasl (works fine with new db) - sendmail (still broken at all) + snmp (works fine with new db) So, except for Sendmail (which is broken for other reasons, too) everything works fine and we have just two packages which require the old version.

%description
Berkeley DB is a programmatic toolkit that provides high-performance
built-in database support for desktop and server applications and
for information appliances. The Berkeley DB access methods include
B+tree, Extended Linear Hashing, Fixed and Variable-length records,
and Queues. Berkeley DB provides full transactional support,
database recovery, online backups, and separate access to locking,
logging and shared memory caching subsystems.
NOTICE:
This is the already obsolete Berkeley-DB version 3!
It is provided for backward compatibility reasons only.
